Cameron rides away victorious over Tinker

img04.jpg

Valetines Day was just a bit sweeter for Great Bend native Cameron Chambers,  22 year old Chambers son of Doug and Pam Chambers Rode his way to victory over veteran cyclist Tinker Juarez a 2 time Olympian and pioneer of endurance racing . Cam finished 1 lap and 12 minutes in front of Juarez, Completing 19 laps for a combined total of 347 miles in 24 hours. Tinker and Cam battled all nite, Cam flatted in the 12 lap and lost about ten minutes to Tinker, then on lap 13 Tinker flatted and lost the ten he had gained on Cam, Cam then lead thru out the rest of the nite and into the daylight hours, After an ill advised break Tinker was about 14 minutes back and then came back to within 10 minutes of Cam, He (Chambers) Finished his 18th lap at 11:26 am and went back out for what was going to be his victory lap, at 11:38am Tinker rode in and did not go out for a 19th lap he waited for time to expire and conceded to Cam. A huge victory for Subaru/Gary Fisher rider Cameron Chambers
